The Arizona Irish Lass Program is open to young ladies thirteen to seventeen years of age with some Irish culture.  The program strives to promote pride in one’s Irish culture, as well as involvement in the Irish community here in Phoenix and Arizona.  The winner of this program will assist the 2017 Arizona Colleen and Rose in representing the Irish community at various events around the state, including the 2017 Phoenix St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Faire on Saturday, March 11.
The 2017 Arizona Irish Lass Program began with talented young women competing for the crown.
Scores were given by judges and broken down by the same categories as The Little Miss Shamrock program, with the addition of the questionnaire, and placed in a computer-generated program to tally the final score.
The young women were confident and poised during their introductions and interview questions, making the judging process very difficult.
The 2016 Lass titleholder, and emcee for the event, Anne Gardner-Hajek, kept the event moving smoothly and was excited to announce the 2017 Arizona Irish Lass.   The contestants gathered on stage and each girl was given flowers and encouraged to continue to be involved with the program and community in the future.
2016 Arizona Colleen and Rose Ciara Archer announced the 2017 Arizona Irish lass winner, Sophia Looney, and Gardner-Hajek had the honor of crowning our newest Arizona Irish Lass.
